Fashion Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture SS 2024

Photographer Quentin de Ladelune

Stéphane Rolland perpetuates the unique expertise of French haute couture. He started drawing at the age of 4 and his passion for fashion became obvious. His style is influenced by architecture and modern art, particularly by Cristobal Balenciaga, Oscar Niemeyer, and Constantin Brancusi. After studying at the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne, he was recommended by Pierre Bergé for an interview at Balenciaga, where he became the youngest artistic director in Paris at the age of 21.

At 24, Stéphane Rolland launched his own ready-to-wear line and signed an exclusive license for luxury uniforms with the house of Pierre Balmain. Success was immediate. At 30, he became the official couturier of Jean Louis Scherrer for 10 years and also dressed the cinema and theater. He opened his own haute couture house in 2007, creating dresses in gazar or crepe, each being a unique sculpture worn by the most demanding women and celebrities worldwide.
