Art Vivienne Westwood «Art, Mode et Subversion»

Photographer Quentin de Ladelune

Lyon Textile Arts Museum pays tribute to Vivienne Westwood for a first french monography.

The designer remains a major contributor to punk fashion and creator of nonconformist.
Vivienne Westwood is known for her colourful and eccentric collections, may be less controversial now, but she remains highly engaged.
The exhibited models come from the private collection of Lee Price. Runway looks, private heritage & collaboration products are presented alongside with pieces from the archives, belonging to the museum, including a sixteenth-century doublet with gold thread for example.
The exhibition is a perfect mix: the modernity rubs shoulders with the treasures from the past.
Perfect proof to the fact that revolutions in fashion never completely turn their back on tradition.
