The Palais Galliera is hosting the first exhibition in Paris dedicated to Rick Owens, titled “Temple of Love,” which celebrates his 30-year career. The exhibition features collections from his early beginnings in Los Angeles to his most recent work and reflects his fascination for spiritual ritual. Owens’ creations draw on a wide range of references, including Joris-Karl Huysmans, modern and contemporary art, and early 20th-century Hollywood films. As the exhibition’s artistic director, Owens collaborated with the curation team to create an exhibition trail that extends to the museum’s façade and garden. The show showcases a mix of styles, including couture dresses and provocative installations, and emphasizes themes of decadence and inclusivity.
